WORD OF WONDER
Work together this week on memorizing this verse!
God chose us to belong to Jesus Christ before the world was created. He chose us to be holy and without blame in his eyes. He loved us.
Ephesians 1:4 (NIrV)
God chose us to be holy. He loves us.
—from Ephesians 1:4
FAMILY CONVERSATION STARTER
Families, use this to prompt conversations at the table, in the car, and anywhere else your family experiences life together.
What in your life causes you to feel wonder? Tell about it.
How can your life tell of God’s wonder?
What is something people think of when they think about you? How would others describe you? (Take turns as a family describing one another.)
What is your favorite way to praise God and show Him you love Him?
If you were asked to share your story with someone else about what God has done in your life, what would you say?
In this week’s part of God’s big story, we learned God sends the Holy Spirit to live inside us and can use our lives to tell the story of His wonder. God’s presence used to be inside the temple, but because of Jesus, we can be the house the Holy Spirit lives inside and we can be children of God whose lives tell His story.
To help your kids remember we are living stones that house the Spirit of God and praise Him, gather stones from outside. Use paint or markers to write or draw praises to God on the stones. You can write or draw anything you want that shows how you can praise or thank God or share His wonder. When you finish, place the stones somewhere to be a reminder that you can praise God and share His wonder, because of His love!
Who You Say I Am
Who are you? How would you describe yourself? How would others describe you? Allow your kids to respond. Did you know if you’re a Jesus follower, God lives inside you and can use your life to tell of His wonder? The most important thing to remember about who you are is that you’re a child of God. Play the song “Who You Say I am” from the Be WonderFILLED Worship@Home Spotify playlist. As you listen, give each person a piece of paper and a writing utensil. While you listen, write, or draw what God is saying about who you are or what you feel God thinks of you. When you finish, pray together as a family and thank God for loving you and allowing you to be His children.
